My friends know how much I wanted to enjoy every moment of these days of celebration, but the fever forced me to bed and everything has slipped away like this … Of course there is that I could stop a moment, enjoy the sofa with its woolen blankets and the warmth of the family and the house. And the other night while we were watching Tanta Matilda I arranged some photos that we took during the holidays and while I did I thought it would be nice to create a photo diary of these days of celebration.

For Christmas Eve we met by my mother. She is a really fine cook, eating her delights is a feast for the palate and then we always prepare with grandmother’s dishes. A real must for the family.

My mother never misses walnuts, as a kind of good omen but we are all always too satiated to be able to eat even one.

My nephew made us laugh all the time. With her little words, her smart looks and her slippers and woolen trousers: she is a lively and friendly child. Nicolò does a lot of spite, it can not be said that he is not jealous but he loves him.
The children fill the house with joy and keep the grandparents young!

At Christmas, on the other hand, we moved from my sister-in-law to the countryside. It ‘s always so pleasant to spend the days with her and her husband, time slows down: we talk, we play bingo, we eat well, we laugh.

For the occasion, I wore the skirt of my marriage and my aunt’s 60s blue coat. He was left in his grandmother’s closet, I had him put away by the seamstress and here he is. I’m not a vintage girl but vintage I appreciate elegance and so here I am on Christmas Day.

Speaking of memories, on Christmas day I got an old picture that portrays me along with my paternal cousins. What a nice surprise, what a beautiful gift!

Among the decorations this year, the tree was my favorite because it was a real small fir that grandpa Tino took from his grove. You can not say that he resisted much, but he left such a good smell in the house that I forgave him for crying thousands of needles ….

My husband gave me the Pippo Perez bracelet, which condenses both this Christmas and our first 10 years of marriage. I loved it, so thin, so chic.

Since December 28th my holiday has continued in bed with a terrible influence and finally now I start to feel better. As my friend Ady of Ubique Chic said “Elle will save you” and in fact she was my lifeline.

Until the last I hoped to celebrate New Year’s Eve but there was no way to, to my great disappointment I spent the last year in bed and started the new year with a reaction to antibiotics. I got very scared, I spent a whole sleepless night … I was hoping for a better start!

I had taken a kind of onesie this for the evening, she remained folded in the closet. What a pity!

I had also brought the berries and eucalyptus to decorate the New Year’s table: I had chosen a white tablecloth from my grandmother, to whom I would have liked to combine candles, eucalyptus, and the red berries on napkins.

Nothing went as planned, so I placed the bouquet in an old vase. I do not know if you have ever dealt with eucalyptus, it is rebellious and it is not easy to tame it. In fact, the bouquet looks like my hair.

Good though, right?
Now, slowly, I hope to get back completely … I have a lot of pending things to do …
